Topic: PowerCore 4 for XP

It seems that (under some conditions) the MS redistributables don't get installed correctly on XP. Plug-ins will not load then. Please manually install the MS redistributables in case you are on XP and cannot load the PowerCore plugins in your DAW.

Thanks! Is this true for all plug-ins? Or what actually happens on your laptop (Maybe you see a different issue here)? How far does it seem to work? I.e. indication in the PowerCore control panel.

Well, the plugins load but are not usable as the go "disabled" right away when sound hits it. Are there any lucky stories in the Xp sp 2 sector here? Please let us know if it's even possible to use this sofware update... and if it works with Presonus studio one. Until then I stay with 3.2

What you see seems to be a different issue. The manual install of the MS redistributables will make the plug-ins appear in your DAW. There is something else on your side... We are currently in contact with Prosonus as we have issue reports. We will update you on that. Can you post your laptop setup!

Hi,early i have almost same problem with 4v. driver,when installed "no device found",all plugins disabled.I followed all instructions etc.But no luck.
What i'm done,i uninstalled this version,then installed v 3.2 and again uninstalled 3.2v ,but keep "Windows Driver Package - TC Electronic (Powercore) Powercore (..../3.2)". Then again installed version 4 driver,and now everything works fine .
Because with v4 driver i dont get "Found New Hardware" pop-up.Thats why "no device found"....

Windows XP,SP2,(with SP3 the same)
Powercore MKII,
Cubase 4.5.

Hi all, updated my powercore drivers a number of days ago and my system has gone south big style.I followed to the tee the install procedure, and guess what plugins missing, plugins output meters go mad, projects have become sluggish to react, and i'm getting processor spikes all this after installing v 4 software for powercore.This is just not acceptable!I'm currently in the middle of mixing a number of projects and as i open each one the vss 3 reverb goes nuts.I never had these problems until i installed version 4 software, what a mess.I have uninstalled v 4 and the problems have not gone away.This is a total joke.

DId you make a system backup before the upgrade?

Thought I'd contribute my experience. I already have Visual C++ 2008 installed. Upon  installation of the update many of the plugins ( MD3, DVR etc) are missing in Cubase projects. I've re-scanned but they are not there. I have spent 3 hours trying to remedy the situation. Had to roll back to an earlier version (3.2).

Having owned the powercore 6000 for about 18 months now I can say that I rarely use it due to its unreliabilty (blue screens!!!!).  I was hoping that the update would help with the stability. Love the plug ins but can't be dealing with the issues...anyone want to buy mine????

For the last 10 Days nobody from TC showed up here but I guess they´ve found another flaw in the beta which made things even worse and removed it.
