Re: new Patches

Is it okay to suggest ideas for new patches here? I'm very new to patch making and I'd love to have someone professionally make a patch that I suggest- smile

Re: new Patches

While I do appreciate the uploaded patches,I am ASTONISHED by the LACK of patches to be found for the Gmajor2. I just sold my Pod X3 Live specifically to get a Gmajor 2. I can go to the Line 6 website and there are more than 60,000 patches for the X3 Live. Now before everyone flames me I know that 99 percent of those 60,000 are crap, that leaves 1 percent of those patches useable. Thats still 600 patches!!! And we only have 18 for the Gmajor 2??? I looked all over the web and you cant find ANY websites with patches for it. Its like selling a computer and then telling the buyer he has to write and develop his own software for it. Sure I could start developing my own patches, but since I am in a cover band I need 30 or 40 different sounds and dont have the time to program all of those. I figured I could buy the product, hop on to the website and have tons of patches to download, guess I was wrong. On the bright side this thing sounds killer!!!!

Re: new Patches

Hi guys,

while the new editor makes it very easy to program and modify patches, it totally agree that we need more of them in our vault.  So if you guys made some nice patches, you'd like to share just upload them or send them my way. (Preset or Bank files)

Will upload some more of my own soon and create new ones if i have some time to spare.

Since i'm a G-system user and don't have a G-Major2 at home my own stock of G-Major 2 patches is a bit limited.

On a positive note we raised the patch count by over 400% in the last week ;-) , so consider this a kick-off.  i'll  try to motivate our G-Major users here at TC to contribute more patches too, so that the preset vault will hopefully grow much faster.

GO Mike GO!!!!

Re: new Patches

The patch library will grow as long as we all pitch in and upload!  I admit, however, that it took me a bit to figure out how to save individual patches.  I added a few this morning. I will try to add more as I copy my patches from my GM1 to my GM2.

Edit:

I think that my Wave patch speaks for itself, but the Crazy Reverb is different.

I think that there are times why my playing is the object, then times when the effect is the object.  Crazy Reverb is an example of the latter.  I made a quick little recording of the effect.  The slight hum is from my recording device sitting on my rack with all of the fans on. But because I mic'd it, you can hear me strum between volume expressions to get a cool effect with this patch.   I have used this patch a few time live lately and it is cool.  I hope you all enjoy! cool

Re: new Patches

I just received my G Major 2 a short time ago, so needless to dday to learning. How can I correctly download these patches into the G major 2 and access correctly? Please help, I would like to do this right the first time. I am also using a Roland FC 300 foot controller. Thank you for any help that can be provided. Do I have to download something (software) or purchase any other cables? Again thank you.

Paul

Re: new Patches

You will want to download the Vyzor G-Major 2 application from the main site.
Here is the software page http://www.tcelectronic.com/g-major2software.asp
Then you can load the patches from the vault into it, and then get them to the GM2.
It is pretty straight forward.

Also, depending on your computer you will want to get a cable to connect from your puter to the GM2.  I needed to go from USB -> MIDI and went with
M-Audio USB UNO 1x1 here

http://keyboards-midi.musiciansfriend.c … sku=701379

Also, you will want to get the latest firmware onto the GM2.  It is included in the Vyzor program.

Re: new Patches

I have been around a very long time, I just never speak up on these boards. Truth is that I post to so many boards I really don’t have the time to take on another one. I am a Rockhouse Street Team Member and that takes a ton of time, as well as playing on weekends, and working a fulltime job, along with a couple of students a month in the Spring and Summer. But, as I create some new ones as long as I think their worthy of being shared I will post them.
My original G Major was stolen about a month ago along with 2 guitars, and several pedals (too much stuff to list here) and I got lucky, I had left my very best guitar at home that weekend, and some of my closest friends all chipped in and got me the new G Major 2. Only had time to just get started with it, I got all the firmware updated today and downloaded the Vyzor program so I still need to get familiar with everything.
Here is a killer word to the wise guys and its coming from someone that learned it first hand even after almost 20 of playing.
BACK UP YOUR PATHCES, ALL OF THEM.
And keep them somewhere safe and far away from the rest of your gear, they got my laptop computer as well and that was where all of my own patches were saved, so I lost all of them, and there was a ton of work and sound checks and tiny little tweaks in all of those.
So now I am not only starting all over with a new and somewhat different product, but I am starting from nothing at all.
Just a word to the wise, keep them and keep them safe.
I’m going to check out what is posted now.
Have a great holiday weekend and be safe guys.

Re: new Patches

How do you download these patches into the G-Major 2? I have a USB to MIDI cable but how do you get them into the G-Major?

Re: new Patches

Is there any directions on how to load these patches. I have the cable, plugged it into the MIDI in and out on the back of the G_Major 2 and placed the USB end into the computor. But for some reason the editor is not recongizing the USB only my sound blaster sound card. Any proficent users out there that can lend a hand?

Re: new Patches

Guys/Gals...I'll upload one of my lead settings this evening.  It's meant for Ch 3 on the Mesa Boogie Mark V, but I'm sure it'll sound pretty good through most any amp's effects loop.  Let me know if you try it and what you think of it.  Keep in mind that I'm using an Ernie Ball Petrucci...but it sounds good with any pickup combination....

Re: new Patches

Guitartripp. Did u ever u/l your patch I couldn't fndt it in the vault. Did u change ur mind?

Re: new Patches

hey everyone,

does anybody know if theres a way to look at the settings of the patches from the patch library so that i could manually dial the settings in to my g major myself.  i bought the usb to midi cable that goes from computer to g major but it seems to be way beyond my technical abilities.  any help would be appreciated beyond words.  thanks

I wish TC Electronics would make video tutorials for this stuff.  If I had the time I would make one for you...
You should find a local computer tech/friend to help you get it connected. Good Luck.

Re: new Patches

A long while since anyone posted some new presets so I most my 100. Some are good and some aren't. Some have been lifted from others but most have been modified. Enjoy george

Re: new Patches

I tried reunloading. I tried renaming the file. No spaces, No dash, No Underscores. Their are four or five version of uploaded file. BUT NO LUCK. The file is my 100 presets. It works on the GM2. It opens in the editor. It is a valid file. But alas an error. Maybe it needs to be approved on TC's side.  I put the file in my public folder on dropbox. If you want it, here is the addy.
