Topic: Problem with Nova Delay on/off (bypass) switch...

Hi,

The ON/OFF switch on my Nova Delay stopped working out of the blue. When the unit is powered up, the switch does not do anything. The only way to turn it on is to press the PRESET button, and somehow it turns on. The ON/OFF switch does not turn the unit off after this, so the only way to do it is to unplug the power supply.

Has anyone experienced such a thing before? The unit is more than a year old, so it is out of warranty (in the U.S.).  tc is asking for $130 to fix it.  Most probably, it is a switch issue, but I do not know the particular switch that tc electronic uses on its Nova pedals.

Do you think it is worth trying to fix it, or should I go for something else?

Cheers,

Alper

Yes I have a similar problem with BRAND NEW TC Nova Drive (my 3rd). The switch is intermittent.

Re: Problem with Nova Delay on/off (bypass) switch...

Both my Nova delay switches stopped working out of the blue. None of the other buttons do anything either (including the Preset). It passes thru sound but that's all - can't even turn it off. Mine is also over a year old so out of warranty. I may look into getting it fixed, but it would be great to know if other fixes worked.

Re: Problem with Nova Delay on/off (bypass) switch...

Having a similar problem with mine- the bypass switch has suddenly became intermittent. When I press the 'Manual' button it switches delay on/off, but that is pretty hard to do with your foot when your trying to perform. I'm thinking maybe I just haven't quite understood the architecture of the pedal? Maybe I have accidentally put it in a particular mode or something? Been using it for a couple of years and have never had any problems like this with it before.
