Hmm... that will be tough to answer...
The "best" might not be the "easiest"... And opinions like best and easy are very subjective...
I can only speak to my own experience ![]()
I have only used the FCB1010(uno) with my g-major so far. I like it very much for the price. If you install the Uno chip, the extra functionality makes it quite a deal!

If you have a question about a certain function of the FCB, post back... I'll be glad to try to answer it.
Other will weigh in soon... keep an open mind and read all the documents you can find...
Good Luck
Thanks for your input!
I am hoping for other users to comment, because I want to make a informed choice from actual G-Major owners like us.

I've been thinking about the FCB with the UNO chip as well! I really like the thought of having 2 expression pedals.
Plus, at that price, if it doesn't last forever, I won't cry. I just can't see spending more than a couple hundred right now on a pedal.

When the FCB is set to operate to control individual effects (stomp box mode?), are there LED indicators for each effect switch and if so do these indicators get updated from the G-major, so if I select a patch on the G-major that is without delay, but the previous patch had delay, will the LED status (assing it uses LEDs!) go off?
What about the G- Minor or G Switch, has anyone used them with the G Major? The G Switch is only 50 bucks, and all I'm looking to do is control some presets..

Yes the LEDs do indicate status of the effects... But NOT from reading any info from the G... the way it works is, with the FCB you program it it to send effect status when switching... as in, you tell the FCB the default status for the delay in patch 15 is OFF, but in patch 16 it is ON. The FCB will send all the CCs it takes (with proper programming) to keep the LEDs correct when switching. Or at least I have had no trouble in the past 1.5+ years I have owned it.
Be sure to download one of the several editors out there for the FCB uno... It'll make life with the FCB much easier.
hope i didn't confuse you more... ![]()
post back if you have any more questions...
Good Luck!
I have been looking at the FCB for some time. Having NO midi experience whatsoever, I'm afraid I'd bee in over my head.
Is this UNO chip a separate item, or do you have to get a certain firmware version of the FCB?
yes and yes... ![]()
you order the chip http://mysite.verizon.net/resoamqr/swel … /id55.html
the look around online to get the firmware to match... and be sure to get an editor...makes life a lot easier
good place to start is..

Utzman,
if you are new to midi you may want to use something alot easier than a FCB1010
I owned one, and dooo have experience and I gave up. To me it was a big hassle to program the thing and the company doesnt really support it...so its entirely up to 3rd party folks. Which it IS great they are out there..but for many of Us, the programming hijinx of the FCB is impractical. I use a Ground Control unit by VoodoLabs (Digital Music corp) and its smaller, lighter and easier...imho.
Thanks GtrGeorge,
That's what I'm looking for, all the info I can get!
I'm still wondering about the TC products, anyone use a g-switch with a G-Major?
i use art x15 ultrafoot. i got it new along with sge processor back in the late 80s. the processor was total junk but the controller still works really well. it came with instructions that were very easy to understand. i purchased a used flite case for a korg poly 800,added a strip of foam and x15 has a flite case!
