Topic: New software release

The second topic here is "Where to find G-Natural software, manuals, and FAQs" - it was last updated on 10-24-2007.

None of the links in that post lead anywhere. I wonder how long they've been dead, and how much effort would be required to update them???

I found, by cruising back through the main TC site, that in fact there is a new software release for the Natch, 1.04. I might have expected an announcement here, but I see none.

Now new software might mean that a new manual is available as well. How can I know? Since there is no version information included on the manual download page nor is there any information about the state of the manual anywhere on the site that I can find.

This whole situation has done a lot to undermine my favorable impression of TC Electronics. Is the engineering done with as much care and commitment as these support and information functions? Is that why the loop handle on my unit was loose and getting looser? Is that why several of my friends have sold their units at a steep loss when they began locking up during the boot process?

Sorry for the rant, but this is downright pitiful.

Fran

Re: New software release

Dear Fran,

I second that. I really like the sound I get from my G-Natural, but the Manual needs to be updated. Not sure if this is something that takes so much resource and energy from TC's perspective though.

Re: New software release

Hi,

I totally agree with you all!

Re: New software release

Hi guys,

thanks for the note. Links are updated and are working again. 1.04 software Update
is just a service update that fixes and issue with the compressor.

regards,

Mike

To Mike@TC Administrator

Your Mac version 1.04 can not be read by Mac. I already informed your Tech Support and said they will fix it. That was a week ago, and there's still no change to the problem of your 1.04 Mac version.

Re: New software release

hi ba-j,

i'm on it.  It seems that the donwload of the mac version got corrupted when uploading it to the website.  We'll fix this and i'll send you the installer to your e-mail in the meantime..

cheers,

Mike

Re: New software release

Mac installer has been exchanged and is working.

Re: New software release

Hi Mike@TC Admin,
Thanks for the 1.04. I'm updated now.

Best!

Re: New software release

Hi All
I've used the GNat on tour with the band a couple of years running and am very pleased with it. So far no freezes or hang-ups. (oh how I wish I hadn't said that!). However, like Fran my gnat now has loose loop handles and also the instrument input assembly came unthreaded and I had to do some nifty surgeon-like messin' around trying to dig out the jack assembly from inside the unit. Otherwise it's the best thing I've found to change between guitar, mandolin and bouzouki and not have to re-eq everything. As the update software version doesn't really affect me I'm going to leave things on version 1.03 for now. Has anyone else experienced these probs?

Re: New software release

Hi guys.

I just want to ask what is the difference bet G-Natural and G-Major.
Actually I'm using G-Major and I never tried G-Natural.

I thought this two have some similarities.

G-nat is specifically designed for acoustic instruments. You can use it with an electric guitar and it can sound pretty good - but the unit is really optimized for acoustic instruments. It even has a mic input so you can work with instruments that don't have a pickup, or even your voice.

G-Major is specifically designed for electric guitar. It is optimize for use in the FX loop of an electric guitar amp.
