Topic: Using the drive as a solo boost in the loop

I've not had a chance to play around, but maybe others have.  Does anyone use the drive as a solo boost in the loop?  And what are some settings that work for you?  Overdrive or distortion, gain, etc.

I see many are using the drive input at line level with success.  This would seem like an ideal volume boost for loop users.  Could add a little dirt to taste.

Re: Using the drive as a solo boost in the loop

I did use the drive in the loop but not as a boost, in fact I set it as my rhythm sound. I found the drive in the loop to be quite thin to be a solo boost.. I use the compressor set as a solo boost instead.

I love to have different drive variations during songs ie. slightly dirty during verses, abit more gritty during pre-choruses and full on gain during the chorus that type of thing and maybe play around abit.

The way I had it set before was Guitar > BYOC OD2 > Mi Audio Tube Zone > Amp >> NS in loop.

With this setup, the OD2 and TZ engaged was my heavy gain sound and I'll just engage the NS drive as a rhythm sound. It works more like a gain reducer the way I set it.

I use the Overdrive btw... Can't really recall my settings but I know the gain was set quite low, 5-6?

Re: Using the drive as a solo boost in the loop

for just a solo boost use the BOOST in the loop works great, the drives work well in the loop if not pushed to hard the COMP also works well

Re: Using the drive as a solo boost in the loop

The COMP works great.  Thanks for the tip.  I like keeping the level up so I don't use the BOOST since it attenuates.
