Topic: Mesa Boogie 3ch dual rec with G system

Hi guys,
I have been watching clips, reading reviews and asking people that have used the G system about the tone I would achieve out of a Mesa Boogie 3ch dual rec, and unable to find anyone to use this combination. I live in Darwin, Australia and due to my remote locality, all the music shops in my area want a large deposit before they will order one from elsewhere(at high expense). It would make it so much easier if I could just take my amp to the store to try one out. I just want to hear how my amp sounds with the G system and I was wondering if there are any people with G System/Dual Rectifier rigs that are willing to put up a quick demo or point me at one. This will be the deciding factor for me to buy the G system in favour of a another (possibly inferior) multi-effects pedal.

Thanks guys!

P.S. both my guitars have EMG 81's and my style ranges from blues to rock to heavy-supergain

Re: Mesa Boogie 3ch dual rec with G system

All guitars on this track were recorded with the combo Gsys/dual rec (multiwatt model) through a Schecter 7 string with EMG 707s:

I must add that in reality my sound is much heavier than this. We sort of got screwed by a studiotech who claimed to be knowledgeable about recording high-gain rhythm guitars and turned out to be a complete tool wink

Re: Mesa Boogie 3ch dual rec with G system

Thanks for the reply man. Yeah, sounds like the guitars should have a more scouped mid for more impact but I wouldnt be too disappointed cos you guys still sound good despite the recording. Looks like I should just get one, looks like I can pick up the iB modded one for around $1k. Thanks again Ben_vdd

Re: Mesa Boogie 3ch dual rec with G system

I have a multi watt triple rec and my G will be delivered today. I will report back in a new thread with my impression. Everything I've read has been positive.

connected multi watt 3 channel rec with G System for 1st time today. I really did not have much time but I got it to make noise, so I guess Im connected! Seriously, the noise level was non existent.

Re: Mesa Boogie 3ch dual rec with G system

I'm really not getting any additional noise whatsoever. I followed the white papers recommended setup minus the hum eliminator (I have one on hand) and all seems to be running flawlessly.

Re: Mesa Boogie 3ch dual rec with G system

The HE should only be necessary if you encounter a "noisy" power grid during a gig...I have one hooked up permanently but I don't have any electrical noise in my setup either in the rehearsal room.

Re: Mesa Boogie 3ch dual rec with G system

Aaah so this issue can be venue specific. I did not think of that. Will this eliminate much of the noise from lights and tv?

Ditto, usually the only time I need the HE2 is when I connect a second amp return to my G output to run in stereo.
The HE 2 breaks the Ground loop. smile

What configuration are you using? 4 cable?
