the new G-system 4.05 service update with a fix for the "pedals stopped working" issue is now available for download on the G-system software page:

Cool. Are there differences between this release and the beta? If people are running the beta should they still upgrade?

Banenis,

I would imagine it couldn't' hurt.  They may have taken out some debugging statements and what not, always best to install the RTM version imho.

What I am having a difficult time getting my head around is that it has taken over a year to get this one issue corrected.  Will it take another year to get the pitch transposer issue fixed???

Lastly the good news and bad news is this is version 4.05, not 4.5.  I would be suspect if this were version 4.5 and the only issue documented in the release notes was the pedal issue...

Thank you TC Electronic for your efforts they are appreciated, but do you think this year you can devote just a little more time to the G-System?

Strange, i've updated the system and after a restart is says i've got softwareversion 4.04

Is this ok??

Why do I get version 4.04 R1780 in the display of the G-system, after I downloaded the 4.05?
And I have a problem with exp.pedalen for volume that lets the sound come and go as it pleases ...

I've updated also and it shows 4.04 R1780 after update.  Tried the update two times, still 4.04 R1780.   Is this normal?

I'm guessing that as this is actually the official release of the Beta 4.04 then this is normal??  smile

Hi guys,

the minor software revision number displayed on the splashscreen when starting your G-system is not updated correctly.  We will shortly release an update (R 1781) that will correct the issue.  Sorry for the confusion. Current version is definitely the right 4.05

Same here - 4.04

AND this update completely screwed up my settings... had to reset all my standard patches as my Expression peal started controlling all the delay levels... nightmare !

I have a red limited version...and it just doesn't want to know about exp/vol pedals...this update has done nothing to fix the problem...

I honestly don't know why I haven't ditched it yet...

WHY ARE THERE SOOOO MANY GLITCHES WITH THIS THING !?!?!?!????

The updater won't burn the firmware for me. I'm still on V3. I've got a TASCAM US-122mkII hooked up. The docs say the G-System should show up as a USB device in the updater but it doesn't so I've been choosing the TASCAM. It proceeds right up to the burn firmware point and then tells me it fails.

I'm on win XP.

From what I understood from your post you are choosing the TASCAM to update... you cannot do that because you're saying the updater to update the TASCAM with the G-System software. Of course you will get an error.

On Windows XP the G-System must show as USB Device. If it doesn't them mayne is something wrong on the way you're connecting to PC. Do you have another PC (with Windows 7 for instance) to try this out?

I have the G-System iBModified. Beta 4.04 was fine, however, after upgrading to 4.05 I get random problems with the tuner. It goes into tuner mode, but nothing is displayed in the panel (totally blank). You have to dance on a few presets, try it again a few times and is eventually ok. Anybody else finding this? Really irritating!!!
