Topic: Help with Desktop Konnekt 6

I've decided to record some vocals for some of my tracks so I decided to install my microphone setup again. No luck. However, I'm happy to say this isn't a hardware issue. Basically:

1. Latest drivers are installed for both PCI and TC NEAR
2. Konnekt 6 picks up signal from my mic and shows a functioning blue light, therefore the Firewire and hardware are working properly.
3. Everything shows up properly in device manager now.
4. I'm running SP3 if that matters.

However, I cant open TC NEAR control panel because it loads up and says "No device found..." Similarly, I cant use TC NEAR as I did before in Ableton Live 8 because it says it can't be found and that my sound engine is now turned off and needs to be replaced.

For some odd reason, once I installed my PCI card, I would get a pop-up in the bottom right saying "local connection 3 status: limited or has no connectivity". Random. Once I switched into Texas Instruments 1394 in device manager this pop-up disappeared (which I'm assuming is a good thing).

Thanks guys! appreciate it if you help out

Re: Help with Desktop Konnekt 6

travis,

ignore the spammers.

What pci card?  FireWire?

It sounds like your software is not connecting w/ the TC unit.  The blue light is on, so TC is connected.  From what you describe, it sounds like your on-board card is screening out the TC.  Disable the on board card from device manager and see if that helps.  That would be my first instinct.

Re: Help with Desktop Konnekt 6

travis,

I've never had that problem.  What DAW are you using.  In Cake SONAR you have to choose your interface drivers there.  If you are using ASIO you can only have one set of drivers at a time. and you have to unselect Reltek etc. before you can select TC Near.  It is most likely something simple like that neither one of us is thinking of.  I'm surprised more people haven't answered.

Put in a request to TC support.

Re: Help with Desktop Konnekt 6

Use the TC ASIO - not the ASIO4All.  I don't know nothing about Ableton, but you'll need to choose the TC drivers within it.

TC NEAR Asio doesn't work (pic above)

There's nothing mentioning just TC NEAR?? Only the ASIO version, which btw does not work

What to do?!!?! sad

Everything worked fine before I formatted my computer and changed up some settings (found anywhere online) that made my PC run faster for production purposes (no more useless desktop animations and such).

This question was posted more than two weeks ago, what am I doing wrong guys?

Re: Help with Desktop Konnekt 6

Did you try re-installing TCNear software?

Please put your setup in your signature!

This will help us to relate the issue you are talking about to a certain configuration.

Yes, but just to make sure can you link me to the latest working drivers? I'm running Windows XP Pro SP3. I haven't ran many updates on this fresh install because as I mentioned before I tried to keep everything as simple and fast as possible so my DAW works at its best (which may be a reason why the drivers are not working properly, hoping somebody knows something)

Just checked the forum for new drivers. Installed them and still nothing. What's next? I made this thread a month ago and still nothing tongue I could start pulling out my hair right about now but I'm keeping cool smile

I tried doing a reinstall of the software and still nothing. It might be because I dumbed down all my settings on windows XP (no flashy graphics and everything made to run at the fastest speeds possible for production purposes/ no lag) and MAYBE this is why TC NEAR isn't working. But what exactly is the issue so I can fix it??
